We have exciting news at Gestaltur! After completing training with the renowned booking application, Booking, we have become Proud Certified. Gestaltur is committed to providing inclusive service to our LGBTQ+ customers.

According to data collected by Booking, over 50% of travelers within the LGBTQ+ community have faced discriminatory situations during their journeys. In an effort to change this reality, Travel Proud has emerged. The Proud Hospitality initiative offers establishments a fresh perspective on the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ travelers. Booking is determined to ensure that the LGBTQ+ community feels genuinely welcome in as many accommodations as possible. This way, guests can focus on enjoying their journey, regardless of who they love or how they identify.

Accommodations bearing the Proud Certified label pledge to provide an even more inclusive service for everyone. In other words, if an establishment carries this label, visitors can be assured that they are booking a place where they can express themselves authentically.

The Proud Hospitality program, delivered by HospitableMe (experts in inclusivity in the hotel industry), assists accommodations in ensuring the provision of exceptional service for all guests. In Proud Certified accommodations, there is a designated person to ensure that the entire team is committed to offering an inclusive stay for LGBTQ+ individuals.

These accommodations are committed to using more inclusive language so that everyone feels welcome. In most cases, it is no longer necessary to select a gender-marked treatment when making a reservation. Additionally, when creating a profile, users also have the option to choose from a broader range of gender options.
